Introduction:
The Iya Hauwa Foundation (IHF) in its education agenda in consonance with SDGs goal 4 has organized the flag off ceremony for the distribution of teaching and learning aid to 10 primary schools in Birnin Kudu, Guri and Gumel LGAs of Jigawa state (One Local Government Area each from the three (3) senatorial Zones in the State with six (6) Primary Schools under SUBEB and four (4) Nomadic Primary Schools under SANE) along with the representatives from Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Jigawa State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and the Jigawa State Agency for Nomadic Education (SANE). The intervention was provided by Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) and facilitated by Iya Hauwa Foundation. During the flag off, the materials of the four (4) Schools from Birnin Kudu were given to their Head Teachers who were also in attendance. After the flag off, IHF team with staff from UBEC, SUBEB and SANE will distribute these materials to the other benefitting schools in Guri and Gumel LGAs. OPENING REMARKS BY CEO IHF
The CEO and Founder of Iya Hauwa Foundation Hajiya Hauwa Umar Aliyu delivered opening remarks, after welcoming the stakeholders present at the event; she gave a brief on the concept of the project which is sponsored by UBEC. In her speech she pointed out that Iya Hauwa Foundation wrote a proposal to UBEC to carry out intervention in ten (10) primary schools, taking one (1) local government each from the three (3) senatorial zones in Jigawa state to provide them with teaching and learning aid as follows:
- Magic Board
- Dual Board (chalk and Marker) and Duster
- Sharpener, cleaner, and pencil
- Exercise books (2A, 2B and 2D)
- Maps and Charts
- Drawing books
- Class Register
- Slate Board
- Dustless chalk and Marker
She further cautioned the beneficiaries to make sure the aid reaches its desired destination and to avoid keeping them unnecessarily, she further adjoined the Head teachers to fear Almighty in discharge of their duties with regards to the materials, she finally commended the Universal Basic Education Commission for providing the intervention. The 10 primary schools that will benefit from the intervention were listed by the CEO as follows:

GOODWILL MESSAGE BY UBEC ZONAL COORDINATOR
In his speech the Zonal Coordinator of SUBEB commended the efforts of Iya Hauwa Foundation and stated that in the whole of the states under his zone no single state made an effort close to what Iya Hauwa Foundation did in Jigawa State. He also commended how the foundation made the distribution across the three senatorial zones and also include the Nomadic schools in the intervention. He further adjourned all the stakeholders present to make sure they ensure that these hard to find materials are been put to good use.
ITEMS DISTRIBUTION BY STATE COORDINATOR UBEC
The items distribution to the four schools under Birnin Kudu was done by the Jigawa State Coordinator UBEC, after the distribution he urged and stress the need for proper guide and training on the use of the materials as some of the items distributed are sophisticated and hardly found in government schools therefore needs guide on how to use and care for. He also assures of including the benefitting schools in his monitoring schedule to make sure there is proper use.
CLOSING
The ceremony was closed by prayers and vote of thanks from the leaders of the benefitting schools, community leaders and the local Education authority, some questions were answered and a demonstration of how to use some of the materials such as the magic board also took place.
