The mission of Iya Hauwa Foundation (IHF) is to enhance position of the rural and nomadic communities by engaging in interventions aimed at reducing multidimensional poverty and supporting sustainable livelihoods in line with the aspiration of the SDGs.

Aim & Objectives

The aims of IYA HAUWA FOUNDATION (IHF) is based upon the principle of helping the rural and nomadic communities through empowerment, education, health and life skills development opportunities.

To organize development activities that will inspire youth, young boys, girls and women in the rural communities to work towards reducing inequality, violence against women and girls as well as the betterment of their environment, community and society as a whole.

To promote education (including Islamic education) for the rural communities by raising awareness on the importance of education and dangers of violent extremism and work towards strengthening the community’s ownership of their schools.

To initiate and support income generating activities in order to alleviate poverty in our rural communities and also promote the use improved sustainable farming.

To promote better health and hygiene practices among women and girls (menstrual age) in order to reduce the spread of common diseases. Also to work towards eradicating the menace of drug addiction and substance abuse, conflict in the society through awareness campaign, sensitization and advocacy.

To partner with Governments, Donor organisations, NGOs, CSOs,CBOs, FBOs and interested individuals in areas/projects of common interest for the betterment of the rural communities.

To promote social inclusion, peaceful coexistence and good governance.

Who Are The Members of IHF?

All members of this nonprofit making organization are devoted to improving the living standards of rural and nomadic communities – economically, socially, culturally, and politically. Most members have cognate experience; capacity and transferable skills to add value to the key undertakings of the Foundation.
